Holiday Haikus in English!

Barbara and Sarah’s YL 5 and 6 Classes wrote poetry after their final exams (impressive!) They worked in groups and created Holiday Haikus. A haiku is a Japanese form of poetry, consisting of three verses of 5, 7, and 5 syllabes respectively. Take a look:

Santa Claus is fat
But his presents are funny
So children love him

The turkey is huge
People are really hungry
We need to start now

Nice children get toys
People sing Christmas carols
People give presents

People love Christmas
Christmas is so wonderful
Snow is falling now

Santa brings bright bells
Santa’s reindeer are famous
And he likes junk food

Santa is coming
He brings a lot of presents
If you are so good
