Kid’s Club Volcanoes

We first learned about volcanoes and what natural forces create them. We made a beautiful volcano craft and finally we made our real life like volcanoes out of clay. We put poured bicarbonate and vinegar inside and wham they exploded. Soon you can check out the video to see the kids reactions.
Reading and Writing about Non-Fiction

Students learned that non-fiction books sometimes use labels to point out information about a picture or diagram. Kids learned how to respond to non fiction books and to tap into their background knowledge to make a connections to their new learning. They also wrote some news articles about non fiction subjects they were studying. See the posts on their experiments with liquids and a volcano.

Kid’s Club students did an experiment with liquids to see how oil, syrup and water would mix. Then they wrote about their experiment and their results.
