Young Learners 4 (Tuesday-Thursday) group members have recently been exercising their English debate skills. Each week, the students research a controversial topic such as bullfighting, the death penalty, and school uniforms. In teams, they are assigned randomly to a specific side of the argument and learn about presenting their points. We have faced the challenge of advocating a position with which one may not personally agree. We have been discovering what does and what does not create a persuasive argument.

The Young Learners 3 class members have been busy reporting on the 2014 Winter Olympics Games in Sochi, Russia. Each learner chose one sport that s/he followed weekly, creating a booklet with important information such as the history, rules, and results of the events. Now that the Olympics have come to a close, our class members will present their findings to the group like real news reporters!
